“If a photographer cares about the people before the lens, and is compassionate, much is given. It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument.” — Eve Arnold (1912-2012)
I’ve always been inspired by the work of legendary photojournalist Eve Arnold, who passed away earlier this year. Perhaps, she was most famous for photographing Marilyn Monroe, but she also studied ‘the other side,’ documenting poverty, political figures and a range of subjects during her extensive international travels. A retrospective of her work, All About Eve, is currently being held in London by Art Sensus. A book with same title was published in February.
